We're Not Your Typical Architecture Firm

Forging Legendary Spaces, One Design at a Time

Mythic Forge Studio

How It All Started

Look, we didn't start out thinking we'd be designing Vancouver's coolest spaces. Back in 2018, it was just three of us crammed in a tiny office above a coffee shop on Commercial Drive - fueled by espresso and this wild idea that architecture doesn't have to be stuffy or predictable.

We'd spent years working at those big corporate firms where everything felt like it came out of the same template. Cookie-cutter designs, boring boardrooms, clients who were just project numbers. That wasn't us. We wanted to actually listen to people, understand how they live and work, then create something that fit their story - not ours.

So yeah, we went all-in. Named ourselves Mythic Forge 'cause we saw ourselves as modern-day blacksmiths - taking raw ideas and hammering them into something solid and lasting. Maybe a bit dramatic? Sure. But it stuck.

What We're Actually About

We're not gonna feed you marketing nonsense about "pushing boundaries" or "reimagining spaces." Here's the real deal.

We Listen First, Design Second

Every project starts with coffee and conversation. We wanna know how you actually use your space - not what some magazine says you should want. Your morning routine, where you stub your toe, what drives you nuts about your current setup. That's the good stuff.

Function Over Flash

Sure, we want things to look amazing - but not at the expense of actually working. A building that photographs well but lives terribly is a failure in our books. We obsess over the details that make daily life smoother.

Sustainability That Makes Sense

We're all about green building, but we skip the greenwashing. If solar panels don't make financial sense for your project, we'll tell you straight up. We focus on solutions that actually reduce your footprint AND your bills.

Budget Reality Checks

Nothing worse than falling in love with a design you can't afford. We're upfront about costs from day one. Sometimes that means scaling back, sometimes it means getting creative with materials. Either way, no surprises.

Our Design Process

Our Process (Minus the Corporate Jargon)

We've refined our approach over dozens of projects - residential homes, commercial buildings, heritage restorations that made us wanna pull our hair out (but turned out incredible).

First few meetings are just us getting to know you and the site. We walk around, take photos, sketch ideas on napkins. Then comes the research phase - zoning laws, permits, all that bureaucratic fun we handle so you don't have to.

Design happens in stages. We show you concepts, you tell us what works and what doesn't, we iterate. No ego here - your feedback makes the project better. Once we nail the design, we handle all the technical drawings and work with contractors to make sure it's built right.

And yeah, we stick around after construction starts. Site visits, problem-solving, making sure what gets built matches what we drew. That's just how we roll.

Why Vancouver?

Vancouver Architecture

This city's our home, and honestly, it's a dream place to design buildings. You've got the ocean, the mountains, diverse neighborhoods with totally different vibes, heritage buildings sitting next to glass towers. Plus the climate challenges keep us sharp - designing for rain, humidity, and seismic activity isn't boring, that's for sure.

We've worked in Kitsilano, Gastown, Mount Pleasant, downtown cores, and quiet residential streets in North Van. Each area has its own character, its own rules (official and unofficial). Knowing these neighborhoods intimately means we can design stuff that actually fits.

And being local means we've built relationships with the best contractors, suppliers, and city officials. When permit issues pop up (and they always do), we know who to call.

Let's Create Something Together

Whether you're planning a new home, expanding your business, or rescuing a heritage building, we'd love to hear about it.
